Vocalist and songwriter Gabrielle Stravelli blends musical traditions with a modern, genre-bending sensibility. The rhythmic swing of jazz frames her original compositions while as an actor and storyteller she reinterprets the Great American Songbook as well as works by contemporary artists as varied as Willie Nelson, Chick Corea and John Fogerty. Unexpected, highly individual choices are her trademark.
Highlights of 2023 include headlining the 2023 Cayman Arts Festival on Grand Cayman Island and the 2023 Delaware Water Gap COTA Jazz festival. In May, she headlined the 92Y’s critically acclaimed Lyrics & Lyricists series alongside Billy Stritch and toured Chile performing in concert halls & jazz clubs. This September she held a month-long residency at Birdland Jazz Club.
in the fall of 2022 she appeared alongside world-renowned jazz pianist Fred Hersch in his newest online masterclass for open studio “Just Friends: The Art of the duo.”
