Steven Garrison is an acclaimed saxophonist from the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, known for his soulful performances and musical versatility. He began his musical journey at age 7, starting on piano before discovering his passion for the saxophone at 10. Since then, his career has taken him worldwide, with performances in Japan, South Africa, Jamaica, and more.
Steven has shared the stage or opened up for numerous renowned artists, including Julian Vaughn, J.J. Sansaverino, Khani Cole, Lalah Hathaway, Kevin Ross, Rahsaan Patterson, Gerald Albright, Roy Ayers, Trouble Funk, Sugar Bear, Chrisette Michele, Bootsy Collins, Gary Taylor, The Manhattans, Tank, KRS-One, Anthony Hamilton, and Javon Jackson. His ability to adapt and excel across various musical genres makes him a sought-after collaborator in jazz, R&B, and soul music.
He has performed at iconic venues like Blues Alley, Howard Theatre, Bohemian Caverns, and B.B. King's. In addition to his extensive touring experience, Steven still serves as Regina Belle's saxophonist, performing with her internationally.
Steven has been honored to perform for President Barack Obama and the First Family at the Congressional Black Caucus and played at the 2014 Summer Spirit Festival, where he opened for Lauryn Hill, Janelle Monae, and Raheem DeVaughn.
His debut album, Solitude, released in 2021, showcases his unique sound, and he is currently working on his sophomore album. Alongside performing, Steven is passionate about teaching and continues to inspire the next generation of musicians in the DC area.
