Alison Crockett's musical journey is a testament to her bold innovation and unwavering passion. Since her breakout in the '90s with DJ/King Britt's Sylk 130 and Us3, she has fearlessly traversed genres, from soulful and acid jazz and Hip Hop, EDM and House Music to Brazilian and Straight Ahead Jazz. Her multifaceted talents as a singer, songwriter, and pianist have earned her acclaim, with her debut album "On Becoming A Woman" reaching #3 on BBC Radio 1's chart.
With each release, Alison defies expectations, from the deep house remixes of "The Return of Diva Blue" to the raw honesty of the political "Mommy, What's a Depression?" Reflecting on her artistic evolution, she draws inspiration from diverse musical landscapes, including Brazilian collaborations that shaped her EP "Obrigada."
In 2023 Alison embarked on a new chapter with "Echoes of an Era Redux: My Father's Record Collection Vol.1," paying homage to her childhood immersion in music. Recorded live at the Press Club for Blues Alley, this series delves into the rich legacy of Jazz and Black American music, infusing tradition with contemporary resonance. 2024 brings Alison to renew her first solo album, adding new songs and refreshing old ones in the release: “20th Anniversary On Becoming a Woman…”
