Washington Metro Basketball Hall of Fame Luncheon

Ticket: $150 includes lunch, beverages and valet parking.  Event held at Congressional Country Club.

This year's inductees are Thurl Bailey, Frank Bolden, Adrian Branch, James Brown, Donald Huff, Johnny Jones, Chris Knoche, Stacey Robinson, Penny Toler, and Tony Upson.

Previous inductees include:  Brenda Frese, Dan Harwood, Ed Peterson, Sidney Lowe, Dereck Whittenburg, John Thompson, EB Henderson., Elgin Baylor, Dave Bing, Grant Hill, Red Auerbach, Morgan Wootten, Len Bias, Adrian Dantley, Gary Williams, Johnny Holliday and Red Jenkins, among others. 

The Nation's Capital, long regarded as a hot bed for basketball, past and present, took the ultimate step with the establishment of its own Hall of Fame. The Washington Metropolitan Basketball Hall of Fame gives recognition to worthy coaches, players, referees, executives and special contributers.
 
It should be no surprise to afficianados of the sport that Washington, D.C. is among the very few places to develop a permanent local shrine for those who helped to develop and popularise the hardwood sport. Established in 1981, the Washington Metropolitan Basketball Hall of Fame is administered by a Board of Directors comprised of civic leaders, school officials, media representatives, coaches and basketball-minded men and women from the Metropolitan area. The local Hall of Fame is associated with the Naismith Memorial National Basketball Hall of Fame located in Springfield, Massachusetts.
