Skip Pruitt

Recognized as a magnetic force, Skip Pruitt’s career has encompassed the roles of saxophonist, record producer, entrepreneur, artist, and educator.

As an authority in blending gospel, soul, hip-hop, classical and jazz music into brilliant fusions, which includes a variety of mediums; grammy winning records, live performances, radio, and television.

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Detroit Michigan, Skip has been playing the saxophone since the tender age of six. Although influenced by such greats as, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker and Grover Washington Jr; it was hearing his father, the late Benjamin L. Pruitt, Sr., who inspired him to play the saxophone. Following in his father’s footsteps Skip earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (UAPB); where he studied Business Administration and Music. He is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi music fraternity.

He has released three projects, all of which can be heard on various media and streaming outlets: “Eternity”, a contemporary mix of R&B and Jazz instrumental and vocals. “The Anointing” is a collection of standard gospel hymns, and “Do You Hear What I Hear”, a collection of his favorite Christmas songs. His latest single “SKYLINE” is currently available on all streaming platforms. Fans attending Skip’s performances characterized his style as “soulful, magnetic and captivating”.
