For this year's annual cabaret, we are challenging your perception of each of us as performers. Many of you know our voices and personalities, so we are switching it up! Featuring songs from beloved musicals and some you may not know, we are singing against our type. With our biggest show yet, we will share more small-group numbers that highlight our harmonizing abilities and solos that make you laugh or maybe tear up. Join us for an evening celebrating music that goes beyond what you have seen before!
Featuring the incredibly talented Chris Blacker on piano.
About the Artist
The Workshop NYC is an a cappella group made up of 16 singers from all walks of life and down to earth personalities. Founded in January, 2011, we regularly perform a range of popular music at venues throughout New York such as Rockwood Music Hall, Drom NYC, The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, 54 Below, Parkside Lounge and Littlefield NYC.
Each year we perform a cabaret where we get to step out of the a cappella arc and into the spotlight to belt out our favorite classic and contemporary musical theater songs backed by a piano. Past cabaret themes include: Gender-bending, Love & Heartbreak, 7 Deadly Sins, Big Screen to Broadway, Change, Light & Dark, and Heroes & Villains. Past cabaret venues include The Duplex, Don't Tell Mama, The Triad, and Green Room 42.
Approx Running Time: 120 Minutes
