This show will celebrate the release of Mary Gatchell's 12th album and first vinyl record, Destiny.
Mary has been performing her original music live with her band since 1999. In 2001, Mary recorded a live show right here at the Triad, when there was also a performing space downstairs.
With her brilliant producer, ATN Stadwijk, Mary weaves soulful harmonies and R&B riffs and grooves with her eloquent melodies and lyrics. This new album, Destiny, along with some of her own lyrics, includes text from poets from around the world from the distant past to the present, including Rabia of Basra (714-801), Rumi (1207-1273), Hafiz (1321-1389), Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), St. Catherine of Siena (1347-1380), and Farouk Henry of NYC (1977).
