Composer/Pianist Ronn Yedidia established his quartet PROPHETS in 1984 - soon after his arrival in New York City. The genre he created merged the sounds of jazz, fusion, latin, contemporary classical and other influences into solid structures of improvised music.
In the mid-1990's Yedidia started composing his own jazz standards for the purpose of pure improvising, this time in a jazz trio format of piano, bass and drums - named Prophets Trio. In 2018 both the quartet and trio started performing publicly - debuting at the legendary 55 Bar in Manhattan.
Prophets Trio experiments in both "Standard" and "Free" improvisation based on Yedidia's original tunes, as well as abstract sketches without any restrictive musical guidelines. While the former creates and explores within structural boundaries, the latter marks total freedom which allows the music to morph into anything desired by the musicians - solely relying on their knowledge and intuition.
Ronn Yedidia - composition/piano
Eddy Khaimovich - electric bass
Paolo Cantarella - drums
