Join us for an evening celebrating the timeless music of the Adderley Brothers! This show will showcase the incredible music of Cannonball and Nat Adderley, two of the most influential figures in hard bop jazz music. The band will perform songs written by the Adderley Brothers, as well as songs they made famous.
Sam Butler has performed all over the United States with ensembles including the Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, Sean Dobbins and the Modern Jazz Messengers, Sammy Miller and the Congregation, and his own Visions Jazz Ensemble.
Butler's music blends jazz with diverse influences like rock, classical, and folk, creating a unique and distinctive sound. He has actively toured with his Folklore Sextet throughout the Midwest, captivating audiences with his performances.
Butler's dedication to education is evident in his role as a jazz education curriculum developer and his graduate assistantship at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. His journey began with impressive achievements as an undergraduate, including recognition in the National Trumpet Competition and the release of his EP "Spoken Thoughts." Butler continues to flourish as a performer, composer, and educator, solidifying his position as a significant contributor to the contemporary jazz scene.
