Wed Jan 8
Ken Waldman, Alaska's Fiddling Poet, is putting together a show for anybody who loves fiddle, banjo, poetry, Alaska, and, most of all, the North Carolina mountains, and music from that place.
Disruption from Hurricane Helene has been ongoing. All proceeds from this evening will go to organizations directly helping individuals and communities in need.
Ken Waldman combines Appalachian-style string-band music, original poetry, and Alaska-set storytelling for a performance uniquely his. 20 books, 12 CDs, and since 1995 he has appeared from the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage to the Dodge Poetry Festival to the Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, Australia.
He'll be joined by The Wild Ones, featuring guitarist, Erica Weiss, banjo player, Ilan Moss, and lots of special guests. The promise: a great big roots music extravaganza benefit.
