Blues singer Kayla Reeves celebrates the release of her debut album CONSCIENCE BAY with originals and cover songs.
Surprise guest to appear. Promises to be a rare moment of extraordinary vocal talent and song writing.
Kayla was born and raised in Temple, Texas, by her mother, Helen Reeves. Helen influenced Kayla musically, playing her vinyls of Etta James, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, The Gap Band, Susan Tedeschi, Sam Cooke, Big Mama Thorton, Mavis Staples and Brenda Lee. Kayla and her mother would listen to the songs again and again until Kayla had internalized the essence of the music.
Kayla played in her first blues band at the age of seven and at age twelve, formed her own blues band, KAYLA REEVES & TRIPLE THREAT. She immediately became popular in the Texas Blues Scene, competing in the International Blues Competition in Memphis, TN.
In Kayla's recent years of rock touring, she has studied with Melissa Cross, who not only mentors her on vocal technique, but influences Kayla's song writing, which draws deeply from Motown and Classic Rock.
REVERIE remains unique in both its reverence to the origins of rock and blues, and in its goal of bringing the power of dreams to the listener. Reverie's recordings adhere to unedited performances with acoustic instruments and live performances that capture magic in time.
