Roz White is a singer, an actor and a 40- year arts professional and educator, with a BFA in Theatre from Howard University and an M Ed in Curriculum from Northcentral University. She recently starred as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill at Mosaic Theater Company of DC. Roz is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she also served as a faculty member from 2005 to 2021. Roz has performed as a featured vocalist with Yolanda Adams, Gerald Levert, Stevie Wonder and more. She spent two years on the road in the Broadway tour of TINA the Tina Turner Musical, and has played lead and supporting roles in over 100 shows throughout the US and abroad. She is currently starring as Sybrina Fulton in the recently released-award winning film Veils—Requiem for Trayvon. Roz worked with Julia Nixon in Blues in the Night, in two productions- one at the historic Lincoln Theatre in DC and another at the St. Louis Black Repertory Company. “Julia Nixon was a mentor and friend . Her voice opened a world of possibilities to this young kid from Southeast DC. I’m forever grateful to have known and shared the stage with her. “
