Dorian, aka "Hurricane" Phelps, is an Indianapolis musician who has exploded onto the local music scene and released his first project this year. Join Dorian for his second unveiling of new music and your chance to SHED with him and more Naptown musicians following the first set of this event. Dorian comes from a musical family and is the son of professional drummer Kenny Phelps. He learned many different genres early and studied traditional and fusion jazz. His playing has developed a unique style, utilizing creative rhythms layered with jazz, soul, rock, gospel, and hip-hop.
As a new artist, Dorian's accomplishments are quickly adding up. He was a featured artist at the Penrod Art Fair, GangGang Butter's Artist of the Year, the Indy Jazz Fest After Set, Carmel Fest, Bicentennial Plaza for the Pacers, and more. From starting at church to studying theory and jazz, he has quickly adapted to all styles of music. Dorian has shared the stage with Pharez Whitted, Opal Staples, Steve Davis, Lamar Campbell, Tad Robinson, and countless Naptown events.
