International jazz vocalist Sinne Eeg, in duo with pianist John DiMartino, performs masterful interpretations of the Great American Songbook and her original compositions for a rare Blues Alley performance that's not to be missed.
Internationally acclaimed Sinne Eeg (sée-neh/ée) is a multi-award-winning rising star and the top jazz vocalist in Northern Europe, renowned throughout Europe and Asia and at the tipping point of a major breakout in the USA. Eeg is a masterful interpreter of the American songbook as well as a highly skilled composer, as evidenced in her beautiful compositions, several of which have been recorded by other jazz vocalists. Her live performances bring humor, grace, and class, along with a deep connection to her audiences.
Sinne (https://sinnemusic.com) resides in Copenhagen, Denmark and has been touring the USA, Europe and Asia since 2008. Her many U.S. performances include Dizzy’s NYC, The Blue Note Napa, the Kennedy Center, Blues Alley in D.C., and Jazz Alley in Seattle. In July 2024, she was invited to sing at NATO’s 75th Anniversary in Washington, D.C. during the recent NATO Summit with President Biden and NATO countries’ heads of state. In Denmark, she is the personal favorite of the Royal Family. She has shared the stage with Ken Peplowski, Peter Erskine, Alan Pasqua, Larry Goldings, and Brian Blade, who recently brought her to NYC to record with the Fellowship Band.
Sinne fronts smaller ensembles in intimate jazz clubs as well as orchestras and big bands in concert halls. She has released 13 albums with five receiving a Danish Music Award (Denmark’s Grammy) for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
Her recent release was the explosive album with the Danish Radio Big Band, We´ve Just Begun, produced by André Fischer (Nina Simone, Natalie Cole) and mixed by the legendary Al Schmitt (Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Ray Charles). The Guardian said about the album, “So many superlatives have been showered upon Danish singer Sinne Eeg that you wonder whether anyone could be that good. Well, this album says she’s certainly that good. She has an attractive, flexible voice, sings and writes songs in two languages, and improvises perfect wordless scat…” Downbeat Magazine awarded the album with 4 stars and said, “Sinne’s sophisticated delivery is just about flawless…”
Through her 24-year career, Sinne's live shows and albums have received hundreds of rave reviews, along with wide radio airplay both internationally and throughout the United States. Several albums have topped USA’s JazzWeek Top 50 radio chart.
“Learn to say this name: It’s pronounced “Seen-uh Eee.” The Danish jazz singer, an
established star in Europe, checks all the boxes: burnished tone, perfect intonation,
swing, unerring taste and an adventurous streak. She is a complete musician who,
remarkably, also has a gift for interpreting lyrics in a natural, conversational way.”
