Annie Hägg is a versatile actress and singer based in New York City, renowned for her captivating performances on both stage and screen. She is the bandleader of Annie and the High Kicks, an American jazz band formed in New York City in 2023, which features Izaak Mills (saxophone, clarinet, flute), Pat Brennan (guitar), and Seth Myers (bass). Rooted in the rich traditions of 1920s and 1930s swing, the group is renowned for its bold interpretations of the American songbook, in which the lyrics and storytelling take center stage. Annie's vocal timbre is full-bodied, rich and deeply expressive, characterized by a powerful low register. Her stage presence evokes comparisons to the legendary screen sirens of Hollywood's Golden Age--Rita Haywroth, Marilyn Monroe, and Sophia Loren--channeling both sensuality and joy with every note she sings.
